On Saturday, March 15, Kumon held MUNK international, an English version of Model United Nations. Many invited schools (seven in total) participated, and around 100 people attended the event.
The topic, as with the recently held Japanese language MUNK, was "How to tackle the emergence of new synthetic drugs and their threat to global security."
Emphasizing the importance of considering new ideas emerging from various countries, active debates were held in English throughout the day, and ultimately, all resolution proposals were passed.
Although debating in English presented many challenges and some participants struggled, it was clear that everyone enjoyed the Model UN experience by utilizing pre-prepared study materials and collaborating with each other. We look forward to many more participants and lively debates next year.
