Fourteen representative students from our school participated in one of Asia's largest Model United Nations conferences held in Singapore. The conference brought together approximately 1,000 middle and high school students selected from 71 elite schools across 23 countries worldwide.
The countries assigned to our school for this session were Peru and the Principality of Moldova. The students split into teams of seven, joining committees such as the ECOSOC (Economic and Social Council) and the UN General Assembly to engage in the sessions. At the assembly venues, participants acting as delegates for their respective nations bore the responsibility for the welfare and safety of their citizens, engaging in passionate debates over "what views and proposals their assigned country would advance" to resolve international crises.
The outstanding performance of our students on this occasion is defined not only by their frequent vocal participation at the venue—totaling a striking "82 times!"—but also by the exceptional feat of three students being selected as "Main Submitters" (the primary proposers of a resolution bill) to deliver public speeches on the main stage.
This is highly significant.
Even among the brilliant participants gathered from all over the world, only about 5% of students are ever chosen to be a "Main Submitter." Becoming a Main Submitter—acting as a true leader of the assembly which demands not only an advanced grasp of international issues but also negotiation proficiencies and communication capabilities to guide other delegates—is an incredibly difficult feat. Amidst these odds, our school achieved a historic milestone by having three students selected simultaneously!
In this manner, our school's Model United Nations program accumulates invaluable institutional expertise and deepens with each passing year.
This massive leap forward by our student cohort stands as a testament to the profound success of the Model United Nations program built here over a span of 15 years.
We look forward to witnessing the even greater future achievements of our students, who have gained an exceptionally vibrant arena for learning and practical application.
