The Model United Nations of Kumon (MUNK) was held on Saturday, February 8th, with approximately 180 students from our school and 30 invited students from other schools participating.
This year's theme, "What if a new drug were developed? – Maintaining International Order," challenged students of all grade levels to find solutions. Drafting resolutions based on this hypothetical scenario proved difficult, but the high school students demonstrated impressive abilities to analyze various national perspectives, collaborate effectively, and engage in productive discussions.
To support the younger participants, the previous year's executive committee chair and three other senior students returned as support staff (SOS members). Their contributions were invaluable, and many middle school students expressed their satisfaction with the conference.
The collaborative spirit between upper and lowerclassmen was a highlight of the event, making it a truly encouraging and inspiring experience.
