Through a system of mutual trust and respect, the school community develops healthy relationships and a happy lifestyle. Differences of opinion and outlook can serve the purposes of both the international faculty and students well, but only when they are constrained by mutual respect and polite acceptance.
The student body is made up of approximately 60 students in each of the tenth, eleventh and twelfth grades. There are 30 full-time teachers from around the world who assist students, as they work to maximize their potential.
The prime concern in establishing the school' s rules of behavior is the need and desire to safeguard the well-being of the members of the community and to provide for its smooth functioning.
The official language of the school is English. All public announcements, such as those on notice boards, the PA system and at assemblies, are made in English.
All students board at KLAS and there are usually three or four students per room who are generally mixed by grade. Dorm parents reside in each of the single-sex dormitories and, in loco parentis, assume many of the responsibilities of the students' actual parents.
